Construction Today: No Room for Error (March 2012)
FORTUNE-JOHNSON HAS AN EXTREMELY COMPRESSED SCHEDULE ON EMORY POINT.
The key to the success of any residential mixeduse development that aims to attract college students is making sure apartments are available at the start of the academic year.
Opening after that milestone could mean the difference of 100 percent occupancy and offering well-below-market rent just to fill vacancies. That is the motivation behind the expedited schedule for the Emory Point development in Atlanta. Emory Point is not just a ground-up residential apartment structure, either. The building will house 443 units atop 80,000 square feet of retail space and adjacent to an 8- story precast parking deck.READ MORE
